Once upon a time...
In the summer of 2004 lil' miss Emma Bamford decided that she could think of nothing more wonderful than owning her very own boutique that would be filled to the brim with unique and pretty vintage style treasures. By November of that year her bricks and mortar shop was open for business in Cranleigh, Surrey.

Emma prides Vintage Style as being an 'ethically aware' venture. Nobody's perfect but she promises that she does the following (most of the time!)
-
Choosing labels that think about their impact on the environment
-
Using recyled and thrifty finds to furnish the shop
-
Keeping in touch with her customers in a paper free new fangled email kinda way
-
Supplying reusable shopping bags to her customers
-
Supporting local and independent designers (now this is truely 'fair trade')
...and she's always thinking about new ways to be kind to the world around her

Emma's Top Tips for Ethical Fashion...
1) Buy handmade and independent.
2) Invest in things you'll love forever and that are well made so you'll never have to throw them away.
3) Revamp tired and unfashionable items in your wardrobe before replacing them.
4) Swap your old clothes with friends...one girls treasure etc etc
5) Have your clothes altered if they no longer fit.
6) Make the most of vintage, charity shops, car boot sales and flea markets!
